Christmas/New Year Commuter Coach Schedule 2003/4
We run a modified commuter coach schedule between Gravesend and London during the Christmas and New Year period.
You'll find full details in our Commuter section. Please make sure you check whether your journey will be affected. If you have any further questions about your journey please don't hesitate to contact us as soon as possible.
Our office opening hours also change during the Christmas/New Year break, so please make sure you buy the tickets you require as soon as possible.

Get away early on Christmas Eve
Don't stay at work any longer than you need to on Christmas Eve.
We have special early afternoon departures at 13.00 and 15.00 on Christmas Eve to whizz you back home in time to put your feet up or wrap a few presents.

It's Panto time again - Oh yes it is!
Cubs, Brownies, schools, youth clubs, friends, relatives, neighbours... now is a good time to book your coaches for Pantomime trips during the Christmas season.
Cinderella is on at the Woodville Halls in Gravesend from Wednesday 17 December to 4 January 2004, starring Nick Bailey (Dr Anthony Truman from Eastenders). Visit the Gravesham Borough Council website for details.
A little further out, the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury presents Snow White from Thursday 4 December to Saturday 25 January 2004. Call the box office on 01227 787787.
Organise all your children's friends into a group, choose a pantomime and then book one of our luxury coaches to take you there and back. Everyone arrives at the right place at the right time.

Students - Free Travel for Interviews in London
Reliance Travel is offering free travel to school leavers and graduates attending job interviews in London.
There's no catch. You don't have to buy anything or commit to anything. Free means free. It's a simple offer. We give you a free return ticket to London on one of our luxury, air conditioned commuter coaches. Why? You've got the qualifications, you work it out!
All you have to do is bring your appointment letter to our office before the day of your interview and we'll hand over your tickets and wish you good luck. The offer ends on Friday 29 August.
Our luxury, air conditioned coaches are the most comfortable and least stressful way of getting to London and back, especially in the heat of summer. During the journey you can review your CV and practice the answers to all those awkward interview questions. When the interviewer says 'Tell me about yourself', make sure you've got it all planned out in advance.
We can't help you with the answers, but at least we can get you to the interview cool, calm and collected!

We've moved to a new street address
Effective from 28 July 2003, we've moved our Customer Service Office to our new address:
Reliance Travel, Unit 8, Norfolk Road, Gravesend, Kent DA12 2PS
The new office is just to the east of Gravesend town centre and is open for ticket sales and other enquiries from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Our telephone and fax numbers are the same as before.

Reliance invests £1.2 million in new coaches
One of six new Reliance Travel Iveco Beulas EuroRider C35A luxury coaches, delivered in July 2003.
We've added six brand new luxury coaches to our fleet this week, at a cost of £1.2 million.
The luxury Iveco Beulas EuroRider C35A coaches are built to our own specification. We've operated EuroRiders for several years and they've always been popular with passengers and drivers.
With this major fleet upgrade, Reliance Travel now owns one of the newest, most highly specified fleets of coaches in the area. The new coaches will be introduced immediately on our commuter routes and for private hire, offering a significant improvement to our already high levels of equipment and service.

New coaches feature reduced emissions
Our latest Iveco EuroRider coaches are fitted with sophisticated heavy-duty diesel engines that comply fully with the latest Euro 3 emissions standards.
The Euro emission standards, introduced by the European Parliament and the Council of Environment Ministers, set tough limits for a range of exhaust gas emissions. The objectives of the standards are to ensure that harmful exhaust emissions are minimised, and to make clouds of black smoke a thing of the past.
To achieve certification the engine manufacturers submit their diesel engines for dynamometer testing under various conditions. Exhaust gas emissions are carefully analysed for chemical content and quantity, and the opacity of any smoke produced is measured.
It doesn't make the coach any more comfortable, but it's a valuable step in the right direction!

Work Late? Go Shopping?
Thanks to our new 19.00 departure you no longer have to wreck your promotion prospects by leaving work on time. Put in an extra hour or so and rack up those brownie points!
Or perhaps not. More realistically, the 19.00 departure gives you a chance to get some shopping done after work, or stay for a drink with colleagues.
The coach leaves from Embankment Tube Station Bus Stop C at 19.00 from Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays. The route is slightly different to our other services so check the timetable before you travel.

Additional London Departure
Starting on Tuesday 27 May 2003 we're running an additional, earlier service on our REL1 route from London to Gravesend.
The new departure leaves from Embankment Bus Stop C at 16.25 - good news if you want to make an early getaway from London.
This is an additional departure. The rest of our timetable remains unchanged.

Extra Commuter Departures
Responding to customer feedback, we've added two new departures to our Commuter schedule:
- An additional early morning departure from Gravesend to London on the REL1 route. It sets off at 05.40.
- An additional later evening departure from London to Gravesend, designated C1/REL1. It sets off from Embankment Tube Station at 19.00. Please note that the route for this 19.00 departure is slightly different compared to earlier departures from London.

New Commuter Price List Introduced
We've introduced a new fares structure for commuter tickets, effective from 28 April 2003. Sorry, but it had to happen eventually.
The price of a Single ticket remains unchanged at £5.50. Other ticket prices have risen slightly. Despite this, we believe commuting by coach still remains the most comfortable and cost effective way of getting to work in London.
